Who and where is Cyril Malka?

In a few words I am hypnotherapist, and cognitive psychotherapist.

I was born in France on October 6th., 1963, in Neuilly Plaisance to be precise. Nevertheless, I left France for Israel in 1982. I moved to Denmark in 1983 and lived there until June 2000, when my wife, who is a writer, fell in love with France and wished to move there. Since then, and since the situation in Europe has been deteriorating, we have moved back to Israel where we have lived since 2011.

I have studied in France, Denmark and USA.

Psychology and psychoanalysis became a passion for me, since I was around 12 or 13 years old, and I always wanted to do that. So as soon as I finished my studies and my analysis, I opened my practice at the end of the 80’s beginning of the 90’s (yes, it was the last century) and very quickly I switched from classical psychoanalysis to cognitive methods.

Around 1992, I studied Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and began to use it in my practice in 1994. I began to study hypnosis in the beginning of the century and since 2004 I have added hypnosis to my treatments.

Even though I started with psychoanalysis, I don’t use it anymore. I work with short term therapies based on cognitive psychology, behaviourism and hypnosis. I am a member of APA (American Psychological Association) and NGH (National Guild of Hypnotists).
